FORWARD TOGETHER:
Welcoming 2024
My current read, by Yung Pueblo – The Way Forward, sparked a thought and tone for 2024. In considering that we are in the first month of a brand new year, 2024, and on social media, I’ve noticed the play of words with “four” and “forward”, I found it apt to share from The Way Forward.
Traditionally, we form new year resolutions or set goals at the start of the new year. However, Pueblo writes about intention. “Intention”, is a word well known in our practice. Pueblo’s take on intention resonates and provides so much value to me. So, with my own personal intention, at the start of this year, I am paying it forward and sharing:
Intention is one of the most powerful forces in the universe. It sets actions into motion and enables actions, as a direction. Words get their energy from the intention we place into them.
In essence: If you want to take ownership of your life; and make choices that align with your values and goals. They all need to start by being intentional.
In his book, Pueblo further shares that sometimes we go back to our old life for a little while to remember that it no longer fits. We need to do more than eat nourishing food, exercise, and rest to feel our best. We also need to be around good people, spend time healing our emotional history, live in alignment with our values, say no to people-pleasing, stay open to growth, and deeply embrace change.
He shares 4 ways to remain in alignment and support intentional living.
- Don’t listen to the feeling that you need to perform for others.
- Say no to situations that burn way too much of your energy.
- Surround yourself with people who love the authentic you.
- Let your intuition guide you, not your fears or cravings.
The days of letting your old fears and anxieties make all the decisions for you – are over. A new time has arisen, where you are patiently creating room, so that your present self can decide what actions will keep you on a path that is truly nourishing and liberating. With the above in mind, together let us welcome the New Year and give our passion intentional purpose.
