20 Twenty FIT
FIT, as an adjective, defines as “able, worthy, and of suitable standard to meet the required purpose.” At FAB we love acronyms, and our acronym for 2025 is FIT:
F for Flourish: grow in a healthy way, as the result of a pleasant environment.
I for Immerse: to involve oneself deeply in an activity.
T for Thrive: to prosper, shine, *succeed. In coaching terms, thriving, is all about working on your self-development and resilience.
SELF REGULATION IN THE CONTEXT OF FIT
Ready, Aim, Fire, is a core principle that we adopted from the Enneagram and helps us to self-regulate. The enneagram is a framework to enhance and facilitate awareness and development.
Ready, aim, fire, reminds us to pause, and connect with our heart, our heads and our instincts. Allowing feelings, thoughts, and instincts to become messengers, sources of information and consequently informing our choices. Leading to less reactive decision-making and irrational behaviour.
THE HOW: FLOURISH, IMMERSE, THRIVE AND YOU
- Connecting with your heart: feel your feelings. (Flourish)
- Engaging with your thoughts: analyse, discern, consider. (Immerse)
- Acting confidently. (Thrive)
The FIT principle will probably not change your life instantly; however, it could change the moment, as better self- regulation reduces stress, improves focus; and enhances concentration. Changing the moment will result in longer-term impacts, changing your day, week, and year!
SUCCESSFUL LIFE: YES & NO (THRIVE IN PRACTICE)
“successful life is created with two words: “yes” and “no”. have the courage to say “yes” only when it feels right and “no” to the old patterns that do not serve you.
saying no is a sign of progress
saying no is a sign of commitment
saying no is a sign of empowerment
saying no can help you fulfil your goals
saying no can support your mental health.”
As FIT refers to: be able, worthy, and of suitable standard to meet the required purpose; you can ensure your “yes” and “no” will be to the point, appropriate and in line with your intentions.
